How do I know if I am eligible for the TeleSlim program?

To check your eligibility, please click here to take this 3-question quiz.

What are the medications that TeleSlim Clinic doctors prescribe?

Our medical team consists solely of board-certified obesity medicine doctors dedicated to tailoring a personalized treatment plan for you to achieve your optimal weight. In contrast to other clinics that primarily prescribe GLP-1 medications, our doctors, all board-certified in obesity medicine, have the expertise to prescribe a range of medications, enhancing the effectiveness of your weight loss journey.

What are GLP-1 and GIP medications and are they safe?

GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide) medications are used for type 2 diabetes and obesity. GLP-1 mimics a gut hormone that lowers blood sugar and suppresses appetite, while GIP stimulates insulin release. They're generally safe, but may cause side effects like nausea and vomiting. GLP-1 drugs have proven effectiveness in managing blood sugar, aiding weight loss, and reducing cardiovascular risk. While GIP medications are newer, they have shown significant efficacy in helping patients lose weight.

When will I get my medication?

After your initial consultation, our physician will send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy. For an additional charge, you may opt for convenient home delivery.

Can I use the medication during pregnancy, while trying for pregnancy, or while breastfeeding?

Although pregnancy may impose restrictions on the choice of weight loss medications, there are still a few options deemed safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What is the Duration of the Treatment?

Starting a weight loss journey goes beyond reaching a goal; it’s about making lasting lifestyle changes. Keeping the weight off is as important as losing it. To ensure long-term success, committing to at least a year is advised. While you can cancel anytime, sticking with us for a year gives the best chance for lasting results. If you’re after quick fixes, our clinic might not be the right fit—we’re all about achieving weight loss that lasts.

Do I have to follow a specific diet on TeleSlim Clinic?

At TeleSlim Clinic, we focus on fostering sustainable lifestyle changes rather than prescribing a traditional “diet.” Our team, collaborates with you to develop a personalized approach that aligns with your preferences and promotes long-term well-being on your weight loss journey.

What if I stop losing weight?

A member of the TeleSlim Clinic team will carefully track your progress throughout the journey. In the event of a weight plateau, we will thoroughly review your history and implement any necessary adjustments and/or additions. It’s important to note that plateaus are a common occurrence during weight loss and will be effectively addressed.

How much weight should I expect to lose on TeleSlim Clinic?

The average weight loss is 3% to 25% of your weight. So if someone is 200lbs the weight loss could be 6 to 50 pounds. Since everyone’s response to weight loss medication varies, it’s crucial to collaborate with a board-certified obesity medicine specialist. They can tailor a personalized plan that suits your unique needs.

The TeleSlim Clinic subscription plans start at $149 per month as an out-of-pocket cost. Each subscription includes monthly follow-ups with your doctor, and for an additional charge, you can add weekly sessions with a dietitian or exercise specialist, as well as medication delivered directly to your home.

Please note that the subscription cost does not cover medication expenses, which can range from $10 to $900 per month. Subscription fees are out-of-pocket expenses and will not be billed to insurance.

You have the option to bill the prescribed medication directly to your insurance. Most insurance companies, including HMOs, typically approve these medications. However, if your insurance does not provide coverage, we will promptly notify you. In such cases, you may choose to pay out-of-pocket for the medication.

Many patients prefer to self-pay to avoid waiting for insurance approval. If your insurance denies coverage for any reason and you decide not to cover the medication cost out of pocket, you will only be charged for the initial consultation. Additionally, any subscription fees will be refunded.
